What our families Are Saying

"We were looking for a Reggio Emilia school in Hong Kong and we are so happy to have found Wilderness! The teachers are so warm and welcoming. Our son Enso settled in so quickly and was excited to go to school every single day. We watched Enso thrive in the creative environment, exploring and expressing himself through so many different mediums. I myself as an artist am also impressed by the different play vignettes so artfully and thoughtfully composed for the children, with the settings changed around every week both indoors and outdoors to keep the little ones engaged! We love Wilderness and miss everyone dearly. "

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Wilderness community for being Maya’s rock since she was 8 months old! You have provided her with safety, love and care throughout her years with you, which is why she loves waking up and going to school every morning. The things she has learned, while being part of your community, are life skills which she will remember forever. I like to use the word, community not school, because that’s how it makes us all feel – Being part of something truly great and inspiring. Words cannot describe how much we will all miss Wilderness. Thank you again for all your support and dedication.”

"We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the teachers and staff at Wilderness who have contributed to Phoenix’s development during the past 3.5 years since he first started his Wilderness Journey. The care and attention that your team have always shown towards both his academic and his social/emotional progression have been invaluable. Phoenix has always loved coming into kindergarten and I truly believe that you have fulfilled your promise to instil in him a lifelong love of learning. As a family we will miss the Wilderness community immensely and can only hope for this level of academic and pastoral care in our next school in Shanghai. Thank you so much!"

“All my friends who had been through it had warned me of the drama to come as I handed my son off on his first day of kindergarten. I had mentally prepared myself for a month long of crying and protests. He did not cry once and this may say something about my brave little boy but perhaps says even more about Wilderness. What a wonderful place to start one's school journey. The teachers are amazing and the campus is an absolute luxury. An abundance of fresh air, bountiful light, and lots of dirt; these are true luxuries in Hong Kong.”

“I want to thank you again for the last few years and the care and nurturing Ms. Zoe and Ms. Amelia have given Taj. He loves going to school and even asks to go on Saturday. Wilderness is a very unique school in Hong Kong! The outdoor space, the focus on exploration, and play-based learning is really what preschool education should be about!”

“Wilderness is not only a fantastic kindergarten but a wonderful home away from home for children. Our son joined before he could walk and is about to finish his journey as he moves into his Primary education. We could not thank Wilderness more for the nurturing, caring and loving environment they have created - from the beautiful campus and facilities to the incredible staff who have looked after him, it will always be a very special place to us. Our son’s teachers have always been warm and inviting and supported him through every stage of his young life. Watching him grow from a baby into this young pre-schooler has been such a joy, thanks to all he has learned here. Wilderness is a wonderful community to be a part of and I couldn’t recommend it more.”

“We discovered Wilderness through recommendations from a couple of close friends and the moment we entered we knew it was a very special school. The classrooms all have large windows to allow natural light to enter. The toys and activities are all done using natural items such as wood, seeds, rocks, plants, water which enhance the brain’s natural learning. The founder, headmistress and teachers are all passionate about growing kids emotionally as well as artistically and intellectually. A very special and unique part of this school is the outdoor garden which allows the kids to hear the birds, play in the sandpit, water the plants, challenge themselves with obstacle courses and indulge in lots of messy fun play. Kids thrive in this rich environment. I cannot recommend this school enough. It has everything that I believe so many Hong Kong schools are lacking. It really is a little gem and a much needed shift in how our kids are nurtured and educated.”

“Wilderness is a very special place, we joined in January 2017, when it first opened its doors, the vision and focus was exactly what I wanted for my daughter's first learning experience. It is a real unique find in Hong Kong, with stunning open space and light, natural and earthy furniture and toys it is a calm and welcoming environment. The addition of such a fun outdoor space is just invaluable in Hong Kong. One of the most wonderful aspects of Wilderness is that the children have the freedom to move around from the garden, to the imagination room, painting room to classroom, which allows them to have a varied experience each time they come. My daughter has enjoyed learning baking skills, tackling obstacle courses, building sandcastles, watering plants, and so much more. The interaction between children and the teachers is amazing - all of whom at Wilderness are exceptionally friendly, caring and excellent at engaging with all the children. My daughter leaves every class happy and wanting to stay for more!”

“We are so happy that we have enrolled our son at Wilderness Kindergarten. As soon as you enter you are greeted by such friendly, engaging, and nurturing educators. They take the time to know each child and their families. Every day we hear stories and are given detailed feedback about the fun, adventures and learning that he has experienced; reinforced by photos and the newsletters. Wilderness Kindergarten addresses the educational needs of each child as well as their emotional and social well-being. The children participate in activities that encourage them to engage, socialise and analyse the world around them, enriching their lives and forming a love of learning. Wilderness promotes a wonderful community spirit in a beautiful natural setting.”
